The journey to Palccoyo only requires a smooth walk for 1 hour without unevenness in the route, making it a perfect alternative for the family.
Also, the route offers a stone forest as a natural viewpoint to appreciate the Andes mountain range in combination with the view of Ausangate.
The tour to the rainbow range of Palccoyo is new and is not agglomerated compared to Vinicunca Mountain.

Cusco – Checacupe – Palccoyo – Cusco
Early, our private transportation will pick you up from your hotel between 6:30 and 7:00 a.m. to head for “Checacupe” in Canchis province southwest of the city. The trip usually takes from 2:30 to 3 hours depending on the weather.
Here we will take a short break as part of the itinerary.
You will appreciate the evolutionary process of the transit system used in different periods of history and which conserves at present.
There are 3 bridges over the mighty river of the district: the Inka Bridge, the Colonial Bridge, and the Republican Bridge.
We will continue along a path on the left side of the river “Salka” this will lead us to the starting point of our 1-hour walk to “Palccoyo”, on the route, we will see thermal erosions caused by melting ice and on these alpaca and native llamas.
Arriving at the town of Palccoyo will have a short rest.
As we hike forward, you will be able to see the stone forest “Ccacca Loma”, three rainbow mountains and the red mountain, our guide will explain the orographic history and evolutionary process, you will have free time to take some photos or videos.
Also, we will visit the Stone Forest at 4900 m.a.s.l., a natural viewpoint to appreciate the singular beauty of the mountain range.
Returning through the Red Valley to the starting point of our walk and will board our transport to head to CUSIPATA and enjoy a delicious lunch based on Andean ingredients.
Finally, we will return to the city of Cusco for 2 hours and a half, we will leave our travelers in their hotels or near the main square.
