  1. Day 1: CUSCO – LIMATAMBO – CHONTA – CUSCO

Early, our private transportation will pick you up at your hotel between 7:00 and 7:30 a.m. to head west from Cusco along the Limatambo route (Anta province). The trip by car is about 2 hours.

On the way, we will make stops to visit two important archeological destinations. The first is “Quillarumiyoc”, a fertility temple in the fields of Anta where the Incas worshipped one of their gods “Mama Quilla” and is famous for “the moonstone”, our guide will give us a short tour around the place describing its history.

Then we will go to “Tarawasi”, an Inca Tambo (hotel) that was built by the order of Pachacuteq to be used during his retreats. You will learn all about its history and Andean mythology.
Continuing our journey by car until we arrive at the Chonta’s community. Here we will taste a nutritious lunch to recharge our energy for the walk that is waiting for us (we will be able to appreciate in the distance the snowy Salkantay and the valley of the Limatambo).

We will start our walk of 1 hour and a half through a wide path covered by Andean flora until we reach THE VIEWPOINT OF THE CONDOR, a natural area where you can view the entire Cañon del Apurimac.

Our guide will explain everything about condors and the connection they had with the Incas. It is recommended to arrive at 3:00 p.m. when the birds will be returning to their nests and it is when you can appreciate them in full flight.

Finishing the tour, we will return to the Community of Chonta where our mobility awaits us, our transportation will drop off our travelers at their hotels or near the main square.
